Barbara Sue Cunningham

Barbara Sue Cunningham, 80, of Muskogee, OK was born February 25, 1940 in Muskogee, OK to George and Edith (McLaughlin) Foutch and peacefully passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Tulsa, OK. Barbara received her formal education at Haskell Schools, graduating with the class of 1958. She met and fell in love with the love of her life, Joe and they were married on August 31, 1956. Together they shared 64 years, four months and two days. She attended cosmetology school and started her career as a hair dresser, owning Broadway Beauty Salon in Muskogee until her retirement in 1997, after 35 years of making women beautiful. She enjoyed skiing and boating at the lake with her family and friends. Barbara loved living on their ranch in Braggs, where they were raising cattle. She loved working in her yard and had many beautiful house plants that she cared for. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Muskogee. Her love for her family and friends was evident in everything she did. Barbara is lovingly survived by her husband, Joe of the home; sisters, Pauline Crowe of Coweta, OK, Joyce Foutch of Tahlequah, OK, and Carol Martin and husband Mike of Muskogee, OK; brother, George Foutch, Jr. and wife Michelle of Eldora, IA; brother in law, Buck Cope of Haskell, OK; nieces, Sharon Hutchison and husband Joel, Kathy Ewing, Debbie Greeson and husband Jim, Janice Clocker and husband Barry, Raenee Bennett and husband Carl, Vicki Barnhouse and husband Tim, Lindsey Pledger and husband Jeremy, and Vickie Freeman and husband Bryan; nephews, Ron Sullivan and wife Tempest, Bobby Sullivan and wife Lisa, Randy Foutch and wife Jean, Rick Foutch and wife Janet, Josh Foutch and wife Ashley, Donnie Crowe and wife Kelly, Bill Foutch and wife Leslie, P.J. Foutch and wife Natalie, Johnny Adams and wife Maree, Nate Martin and wife Lori, Lin Cope and wife Dianna, Mitch Cope and wife Christy, and Eddie Cope and wife Sheree, extended family and many friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; George and Edith Foutch; sisters, Jean Sullivan and Betty Cope; a brother, Raymond Foutch; sister in law, Sue Foutch; brother in laws, Pete Crowe and Bob Sullivan; nieces, Heather Martin and Linda Osburn. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with the family receiving friends 5PM-7PM. Services celebrating Barbara’s life are 11AM Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson, with Pastor Corey Seitz officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Muskogee, OK with Lin Cope, Mitch Cope, Eddie Cope, Anthony Greeson, Bobby Sullivan and Donnie Crowe serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Ron Sullivan, Randy Foutch, Rick Foutch, Bill Foutch, P.J. Foutch, Josh Foutch, Johnny Adams, and Nate Martin. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions in Barbara’s name to the charity of their choice.
