Bonnie Sue Acree

Bonnie Sue (Garrison) Acree passed away from this life peacefully on May 6, 2022, at her home in Fort Gibson surrounded by her family. She was born in Siloam Springs, AR to Basil and Eva Garrison. Bonnie attended Colcord Schools until the fifth grade; she began school in Porter, OK where she met the love of her life, J.W. Acree. Bonnie and J.W. graduated high school together in 1959. After graduation, they began their marriage on July 1, 1960, of 59 years. Bonnie worked for Porter Schools for 20 plus years. After retiring in 1999, Bonnie and J.W. enjoyed life traveling and spending time with family and friends. Bonnie’s passions included reading, word searches, and her family. She enjoyed spending her time supporting her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids in their activities. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Acree; her parents, Basil and Eva Garrison; and her sisters, Virginia Keele and Judy Garrison. She is survived by her son, Basil Kent Acree and wife, Beth; her daughter, LaDonna Sue Ross and husband, Marty; her six grandchildren, Carmon Wieden, Candace Acree, Kendra Rush and husband, Rusty, Levi Webb, Katelyn Farris and husband, Brantley, and Amber Johnson and husband, Sammy; Bonnie was blessed with nine great-granddaughters, Rylie (15), Lilian (14), Kenley (13), Kelcie (12), Birdie (9), Aspen (7), Aliya (6), Adlee (3), and Della (11 months); niece, Bonnie Mae Mayes; great nieces, Dani, Mika, Hannah, and Miley; and great nephew, Wyatt. Bonnie’s obituary was beautifully written by her family. A viewing is scheduled for noon-7PM Monday, May 9, 2022, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with the family receiving friends 5PM-7PM. A service celebrating Bonnie’s life will be 2PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Yarbrough officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK with Levi Webb, Sammy Johnson, Rusty Rush, Brantley Farris and Wyatt Mayes serving as casket bearers. Doug Robertson, Darrell Jones, Earnest Adams and Carl James will serve as honorary casket bearers.
