Buddy Donald Graves, 77, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Born August 4, 1947, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to George and Lou Ella (Fowler) Graves, Buddy’s life was a testament to unwavering dedication, hard work, and the profound love he shared with his family. His early years instilled in him a strong work ethic forged through perseverance alongside his mother and siblings, working the fields following his father's illness. This foundation shaped his successful career as a welder, a profession in which he took immense pride, not just for the skill, but for the ability to provide for his loved ones. He found his life partner and soulmate, Nancy Allison Graves, whom he married on July 4, 1985, and together they built a lifetime of cherished memories. They were married at Nancy’s mothers apartment; it was a very happy occasion. He wore blue tuxedo, and Nancy wore an off white wedding dress. Beyond his professional life, Buddy found joy in simple pleasures: the thrill of fishing and hunting, the relaxation of a classic Western film, and most especially, the warmth of sharing meals with family. An exceptional cook, he delighted in hosting gatherings, strengthening bonds and creating lasting memories for those he loved. His family was his world; he leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and unwavering support, deeply treasured by his children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by those he held dear. Buddy is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Allison Graves, of the home; sister, Burni Lee of Muskogee, OK; step-sons Lloyd Boswell and wife Angela of Muskogee, OK, Kenneth Carter of Muskogee, OK, and Waylin Boswell of Muskogee, OK; grandsons, Maximus Thompson, Memphis Thompson, and Ryan Boswell, all of Muskogee, OK; and granddaughter, Paris Boswell, also of Muskogee, OK. He is reunited with his parents, two sisters, two daughters, and one son. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Clifford D. Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Muskogee. A celebration of Buddy’s life will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Hart officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, with casket bearers Paris Boswell, Ryan Boswell, Lloyd Boswell, and Kenneth Carter.
