David A Gragg

David Allen Gragg, 67, of Fort Gibson, was born April 25, 1949 in Muskogee, OK to LC and Helen (Watkins) Gragg and entered Heaven’s gates on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. David grew up in Muskogee where he graduated from Muskogee High School with the Class of 1967. He furthered his education at OSU Technical School graduating with an electronics degree. David married Peggy Gragg on February 21, 1970 and to this union two children were born. A marriage that lasted fourteen years until Peggy’s passing on November 14, 1984. On August 11, 1985, David married the love of his life, Trudy L Howell in Muskogee, OK. David worked at Fort Howard Paper Co in Muskogee, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Working on cars, woodworking, riding his motorcycle on the back roads just to enjoy God’s beauty. David was wise, loyal, faithful, kind, gentle and in all this mix was orneriness. He loved to laugh and he lived his life by his motto, “In this world we live in, if I can make one person laugh each and every day, I’ve done well.” David was always willing to help everyone, especially his kids. Fix a car, repair a roof leak, broken window, he was there to take care of it. He was a good listener, often known as the peace maker, and always willing to give advice when needed. When one of the kids would have good news, David would do a little jig, either the cabbage patch or the Jed Clampet jig always saying “that would make Bo Jangles wanna dance.” David loved praise and worship with his church family. His most important treasure was his family. David was a proud family man, and lived his life accordingly. Those left to cherish David’s memory are his wife; Trudy of the home, daughters; Alicia Childs and husband James of Tahlequah, OK, Traci Haworth and husband Matt of Fort Gibson, OK, Ann Jones and husband Doug of Fort Gibson, OK, daughter in law; Tammy Gragg of Muskogee, OK, grandkids; Brent, Shelby, Brittany and Keaton Childs of Tahlequah, OK, Levi and Addison Haworth of Fort Gibson, OK, Carlie Jones of Fort Gibson, Jake Anderson of Tulsa, OK, Mason Jones of Muskogee, OK, Leah, Casey, Audrey and Ireland Gragg of Muskogee, OK, brothers; Jerry and Vi Gragg of Muskogee, OK, Donnie and Sharon Gragg of Muskogee, OK, Bobby and Janet Gragg of Broken Arrow, sister, Barbara and Charlie Cole of Okmulgee, OK, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, a stepmother; Alice Gragg, his high school sweetheart Peggy Maxwell Gragg and beloved son; Casey Michael Gragg. Viewing for David will be Sunday, May 29, 2016 and Monday, May 30, 2016 from 1PM-6PM in the Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A celebration of David’s life will be held 10AM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the Trinity Family Worship Church in Fort Gibson with Pastor Kevin Jones officiating. Committal prayers in interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery with Alex Parris, Ryan Denny, Bradley Satterfield, Chris Brassfield, Michael Tate and Nate Branchcomb serving as pallbearers.
