Dolores Ann (Davis) Johnson-Dodd

Dolores Davis Johnson-Dodd, 70, of Fort Gibson was born March 1, 1954 to Jack and Ruby (Wilcoxson) Davis in Sterling City, Texas. The family moved to Oklahoma when she was a young girl, and she graduated from Fort Gibson High School with the class of 1972. She started her working career as a secretary with Q B Boydstun Law Firm and retired as a machine operator at Whitlock Packaging Corporation. She took care of many children as a Nursery worker at First Baptist Church for several years. She held fast to her faith and firm belief that all things were possible with the help of the Lord, no matter what trials and tribulation was thrown at you, and she had battled a lot over her adult life. Dolores was a very private person and only those close and dear to her really understood the person she was. Her passion was sewing, quilting, weaving, and crochet. Dolores married her high school sweetheart, Steve Johnson, on August 4, 1972 and to this union, she was blessed with four sons whom she loved dearly. When this marriage was dissolved, she was faced with one of her tribulations, but then she met the true love of her life, and married Charles Michael Dodd on February 14, 2001 with whom she made many happy and joyous memories for over twenty-three years. The angels carried Dolores to her heavenly home on August 24, 2024 in Tulsa with her sons, husband and close friend by her side. Dolores was preceded in death by her grandparents; father; and son, Caleb Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are her husband, Charles Dodd of Fort Gibson; sons, Lee Grant (Jamie) Johnson of Muskogee, Colby Johnson of Tulsa, Jordan and wife Lauren of Fort Gibson, and bonus son, Jasen Michael Dodd of Guam; grandsons, Jacob Johnson and Bentlee Johnson both of Muskogee, Mason Obregon of Tulsa, and Brody and Benjamin Johnson both of Fort Gibson; granddaughters, Abbye Bretenstein, Zoe Johnson, Tenley Johnson all of Muskogee, and Katelynn Bowden of Fort Gibson; great-granddaughter, Remi Girty of Muskogee; mother, Ruby Davis of Fort Gibson; brother, Billy Jack Davis of San Antonio, TX; extended family; and many friends. A celebration of Dolores’ life will be 11AM, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Brother Butch Cook officiating.
