Douglas Parker 'Doug' Lynch

Douglas Parker Lynch, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, peacefully at his home in Muskogee, at the age of 79. Douglas, known by most as Doug, was born on December 11, 1946, in Torrance, California, to Harley and Grace Lynch. Doug attended and graduated from South High School in Torrance with the Class of 1964. He joined the United States Air Force as a Communications and Relay Center Equipment Repairman in October of 1964, completed training, and was deployed to the Republic of Vietnam from Japan for multiple rotations, serving a total of three years overseas. Doug was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal for his service. Following military service, Doug worked in several positions, including jewelry creation, repair, and sales. In 1972, Doug married Susan Kinsey and welcomed their daughter, Angelique, in 1974. In 1981, Doug was married to Kimberly Johns and would share 45 years of marriage. They welcomed their first son, William, in 1983 and their second son, Jonathan, in 1986. In 1992, Doug, Kim, and family relocated to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where they remained for thirty years. Doug worked in retail sales, automobile sales, and Information Technology / Web Design at the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise. Doug would launch and succeed in his own business, New Beginnings Computer Service, providing residential and commercial computer sales, repair, and service. In 2022, Doug and Kim would relocate to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he remained until his passing. Doug was well known for his compassion and drive for civic service as an active member of the American Legion and Bartlesville Rotary International, a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award for exemplary service. Doug served on many boards, including a major role with the annual Fantasy Land of Lights, the Washington County Soccer Club, OSSAA Umpire for High School Baseball and Softball, and as a Soccer Referee and Coach. Doug was an active Golfer, Harley-Davidson rider, and bowler. His compassionate nature, hearty laugh, and glowing presence will be greatly missed and felt by the entire community. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly; his daughter, Angelique, her husband Joel; his sons, William, wife Alexandra, and Jonathan, wife Cassie; and 6 grandchildren: Nathan, Justin, Cydney, Devin, Landrie, and Lincoln. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Grace, and his sister Carol. Funeral Services are being conducted by the Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Muskogee. Services pending.
