Ella D. Holloway

Ella Dale (Spencer) Holloway, 97, of Muskogee, was born November 9, 1923 in Muskogee to Buel Riddle Spencer and Anna Mae (Blackwood) Spencer and peacefully passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 in Vinita. She was a lifelong resident of Muskogee and received her formal education in the Muskogee School system. She met, fell in love and later married the love of her life David W. Holloway, Sr. on September 2, 1955. Dale worked as an executive secretary for HB Egan MFG Co. for forty years. She also worked as an outside sales rep for 8 years. She was the secretary of the Muskogee Coin Club, until she was no longer able to attend. She worked hard to attain membership and gained her certificate in the Certified Professional Secretaries. She was a member of the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Muskogee and also the Muskogee Presbyterian Church. Dale played the piano from childhood having being taught by her mother. She was the pianist at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church as well as Sunday School Teacher, children church leader and youth camp counselor for many years. She loved to collect glassware, Beanie Babies, loved camping and spending time outdoors. Dale is lovingly survived by her sons, David W. Holloway, Jr. and wife, Robin of Fort Gibson and Dale R. Holloway of Muskogee, grandsons, Loren Holloway and wife, Ashley of Glenpool and Mikel Holloway of Muskogee; granddaughter, Stefanie N. Coppin and husband, Morgan of Muskogee, great grandchildren, Brett Holloway, Lezliegh Holloway and Evie Holloway; along with many beloved nieces, nephews and a host of friends and children who were taught and loved by her throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David W. Holloway, Sr., brothers, Gordon Spencer and B.R. Spencer, and her sister, Martha Spencer Reck. Viewing will be Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from Noon to 5:00PM with a visitation with family receiving friends 5:00PM-7:00PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson.
