Evelyn Ann Schiavi, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories for all who knew and loved her. Born on November 25, 1939 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Evelyn later moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma where she lovingly raised her family. She began her journey as a devoted homemaker, and later transitioned into a successful career in retail sales, where she became a beloved figure to many. Her warmth and kindness touched countless lives during her years at Merle Norman Cosmetics and J. Beck Jewelers. Evelyn was passionate about cooking, and her kitchen was often filled with the rich aroma of her signature dishes, spaghetti and chicken soup, which she generously shared with friends and neighbors. Known for her quiet acts of kindness, she frequently donated coats, shoes, and toys to local schools, always ensuring her gifts remained anonymous. Evelyn had a heart that overflowed with love for others, and her infectious laughter could brighten even the darkest of days. In her later years, although she spent much of her time at home, Evelyn found joy in staying informed and discussing politics. She became quite the at-home political pundit, always ready to share her tangy opinions with anyone would lend an ear. But above all, Evelyn’s greatest love was her family. She treasured family gatherings, especially around the holidays, where her famous macaroni salad was always a much-anticipated dish. Her home was a place of love, laughter, and togetherness. Evelyn is survived by her loving family, daughter, Lori Bartel (Blaine) of Broken Arrow, OK; son, Mark Stacy of Muskogee, OK; grand-daughters, Allyson Kelley (Tommy) of Broken Arrow, OK and Angeline Stacy of Tulsa, OK; grandsons, Mark Stacy Jr. (Chelsea) of Jenks, OK, Austin Stacy of Muskogee, OK, and Hayden Stacy of Muskogee, OK; great-grandchildren, Emily Payton (Palmer), Case, Chloe, Jackson, Hudson, and Lincoln; great-great grandchildren, Parker and Palmer Eloise; extended family, and many friends. She is now reunited with her beloved son, Jeffery Sean Stacy; her parents, Mary and Pasquale Rizzi; and her siblings, Caryl, Ann, Gertrude, Irene, Marion, Dorothy, Patricia, Margaret, Alice, William and Joseph. Evelyn’s love, generosity and humor will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be 11:00AM Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Muskogee with Rev. Blaine Bartel officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee, OK.
