Gary Gene Kidd

Gary Gene Kidd, 73, of Tulsa, OK was born September 20, 1949 in Tulsa, OK to James and Betty Jo (Walsh) Kidd and passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 in Tulsa, OK. Gary graduated High School in Oklahoma. He continued his education at Oklahoma Community College for a short time in hopes to obtain a degree in computer programming. Gary enlisted in the United States Navy on March 26, 1970 in Tulsa. He served during the Vietnam Era where he was honorably discharged August 1, 1972 as an E-4. Gary loved living in Oklahoma and told those closest to him, he would never leave his hometown. He worked as an Environmental Chemist with Sherry Laboratories and retired in 2009. Gary’s passion was cars. He used to race cars at the Tulsa Drag Strip and loved rebuilding his 1967 Camaro. Gary was an avid movie lover and enjoyed listening to music, he was also in a bowling league. In his last years, Gary cherished spending time with loved ones and became quite the online shopper. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Gary is lovingly survived by his son, William ‘Billy’ Kidd and wife Andie of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Kristin Eeg and husband Jason of Bixby, OK; sisters, Kathy Sims of Sand Springs, OK and Pam Price of Fort Gibson, OK; grandchildren, Christopher Eeg, Kami Kidd, Paige Powers, Kerrington Kidd, Grant Powers, Avery Kidd, and Cassius Eeg; his previous wife, Denise Malone; nephews, Keith Sims and Jason and wife Mendy Kidd of Broken Arrow, OK; nieces, Erin Coffee of Zeb, OK and Jessica Kidd of Tulsa, OK, extended family, and many friends. Gary is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James Richard “Rick” Kidd. Viewing for Gary will be Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 10AM to 5PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A celebration of Gary's life will be 1PM Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Pastor Jeremiah Edens officiating. William Kidd, Jason Kidd, Jason Eeg, Jim Malone, and Burl Butler will serve as honorary urn bearers. Committal prayers and inurnment will follow at 2:30PM in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Military Honors being observed.
