Gary Eugene Lietke

Gary Eugene Lietke was born March 7, 1954, in Akron, Ohio to Clyde Edward Lietke and Eunice Montene (King) Lietke and peacefully passed away, Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the age of 68 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Gary was raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where he graduated high school. After high school, Gary enlisted in the United States Army on April 30, 1971, and faithfully served his Country until April 9, 1977. While serving, Gary was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Gary wore many hats, he was a Deputy Sheriff in Navajo County, Arizona for over 11 years, he was a police training instructor, firearms instructor for Cadets going through the police academy, and a Certified Electrician. He was a huge Oklahoma Sooner fan and an avid pool player. Gary loved to camp and could fix anything that was broken. One of his greatest passions was rebuilding his trucks. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Eunice Lietke; and his sister, Shelley Gail Ivers. Gary is lovingly survived by his daughters, Sherry Willis and husband, Briant of Perkins, OK; Amy Wilson and husband, Allen of Doylestown, OH; Lisa Dawson of Canton, OH; Chris Polzin and husband, Layne of Fort Gibson, OK; Son, Scott Lietke and wife Dawn of Medina, OH. Granddaughters - Caroline Howell of Massillon, OH; Kylie Dawson of Canal Fulton, OH; Cassie Dawson of Doylestown, OH; Delaney Wilson of Wooster OH; Taya Parham of Stillwater, OK; Nia Polzin of Fayetteville, AK; Shelby Lietke of Louisville OH. Grandsons - Travis Willis of Stillwater, OK; Connor Dawson of Doylestown, OH; Reece Wilson of Wooster OH; David Dawson of Canal Fulton, OH; Tyler Parham of Phoenix Arizona; Michael Lietke of Massillon OH; Keaton Lietke of Hartville OH; Brandon Best of Maplesville Alabama; JT Rowan of Medina OH. Great Granddaughters - Addy Howell, Ellie Howell and Hudson Howell of Massillon OH. Great Grandson, Caleb Dawson-Jordan of Canal Fulton OH. Siblings - Darlene Henry and husband, Joe; Faunda Fletcher and husband, Mike; Robin Lench and husband, Vernon; Dale Lietke and wife, Becky; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family; and many friends. A viewing for Gary will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 12PM-7PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. Gary’s visitation with family receiving friends will be 12PM-2PM Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. Immediately following visitation, the local chapter of Patriot Guard Riders will escort a processional of family and friends to the Fort Gibson National Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Gibson where a celebration of Gary’s life will begin at 2:30PM Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Brother Justin Kinman will officiate the ceremony. Nathan Lench, Hayden Lench, Connor Dawson, David Cornelius, Briant Willis, Travis Willis, Layne Polzin, and Dale Lietke will serve as casket bearers. Military honors will be observed.
