Leona "Susie" Sue Johnson

Leona Sue ‘Susie’ Johnson, 67, of Inola, OK was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harold Gene Hayward and Gloria June Hayward and met her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 6, 2023, in Ft. Gibson, OK. She was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where she attended school. She married her best friend; Troy Johnson and they made their home in Inola. She and Troy ran their own business, Johnson Trucking for 25 years. Susie also had the best job ever as a homemaker to her family. She and Troy traveled many miles on their Harley Davidson, with their feet up and the wind in their hair. Susie enjoyed playing golf when she and Troy were traveling. Her greatest joy was planning and hosting family gatherings. Susie’s family was her passion. Her love and devotion for her family was evident in everything she did. She will be greatly missed. Susie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Troy; a brother, David Hayward, Sr; and a sister, Donna Carver. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Georganna Sue DeShazer of Tulsa, OK and Samantha Jo Winkel of Wagoner, OK; son Jeremy Wayne Winkel of Inola, OK; granddaughters, Sarah Beth Winkel (aka SB) of Wagoner, OK and Allison Phillips and husband Tyler of Tulsa, OK; grandsons, Zachary Wayne Winkel and Michaela Plant of Orlando, FL; Michael David Winkel and wife, Rachel of Muskogee, OK; Garrett Wayne Winkel and wife, Haylee of Inola, OK; Jeremy Sullivan Winkel of Inola, OK. Great-grandsons Zayne Michael Winkel, Ryder Eugene Winkel, and Warren Whip Winkel; great granddaughters Alaynna, Kynlee and Whitlee Grace Winkel (aka- Shirly); sisters, Vickie Hayward of Muskogee, OK, Gloria Clark and husband, Terry of Eufaula, OK; Christy Chambers of Muskogee, OK; Katie Glass and husband, Aaron of Muskogee, OK, and brothers Bill Hayward of Indianapolis, IN; Harold Gene Hayward Jr. of Greenwood, Arkansas and Clifford Hayward of Muskogee; grandpup Cricket Sue Ledtje of Orlando, FL and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends. A visitation will be held Monday, March 13, 2023, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with family receiving friends 4PM-7PM. Services celebrating Susie’s life will be held 1PM Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Brother Justin Kinman officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Zachary Winkel, Michael Winkel, Garrett Winkel, Jeremy S. Winkel, David Hayward Jr. and Jason Hayward serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Shane Hayward and Joey Hayward.
