Linda Isabelle (Self) Igert

Linda Isabelle (Self) Igert, 75, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, was born on June 10, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan to Howard Upton Self and Ada Lee (Mounts) Self and peacefully passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at her home. Linda graduated high school and pursued a career in accounting where she spent many years working for Cherokee Nation. She met and later married her best friend and the love of her life, David Igert, on September 19, 1969 in Muskogee, OK. She found great joy in cooking and baking for her family, always preparing meals and treats for everyone to enjoy. Sunday lunches at her home became a treasured tradition, where family gathered to share food, laughter, and time together. Her greatest passion in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them and supported them in all their endeavors, celebrating each milestone and accomplishment. Linda truly lived for her family, who meant everything to her. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of devotion, strength, and unconditional love that will be remembered and cherished for generations. Linda is now reunited with her parents, Howard Upton Self and Ada Lee (Mounts) Self. She is lovingly survived by her husband, David Igert of the home; her son, Brady Igert and wife Tracy; her daughter, Nikki Igert; her grandchildren, Dean and Kayla Igert, Cole Igert, and Abby Vahdatipour; her great grandchildren, Nolan and Grace Igert; her sister, Kathleen Self; her brother, Kenneth Self; extended family and many friends. Linda's celebration of life will be 10AM Friday, July 24, 2026, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery Pavilion with Minister Curtis Brashears officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Linda's name to Braggs Church of Christ, P.O. Box 28, Braggs, Oklahoma 74423.
