Linda Sue Melton

Linda Sue Melton, 67, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in Muskogee. She was born on May 16, 1958, in Mulberry, Arkansas, to Bill and Wilma (Barker) Brown. Linda dedicated her life to raising her children, embracing the joys and challenges of being a stay-at-home mother. Her devotion to family was at the heart of everything she did and remained her greatest passion throughout her life. She found joy in simple pleasures—fishing on quiet days, crocheting with care, and tending lovingly to her garden. Linda also had a talent for baking and delighted in sharing homemade treats with friends and loved ones. Whether gathered around a table playing Bingo or Phase 10 or enjoying time outdoors, Linda brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Linda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell Melton; brother, Leroy Brown; and her daughter in law, Connie Melton. Those left to cherish Linda’s memory are her sons, Jerrod Melton of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Danny Melton and wife Nina of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma, and Joey Melton and wife Dorothy of Muskogee, Oklahoma; brothers, Bobby Brown of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Tommy Brown of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; grandsons, Richie Melton and wife Amber of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Jeffery Melton of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Thomas Melton of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Dakotah Melton of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Logan Melton of Muskogee, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Hannah Freed of Hulbert, Oklahoma; great grandson, Jacob Melton of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; great granddaughters, Elizabeth Melton of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma and Auria Freed of Hulbert, Oklahoma; extended family; and many friends. Viewing will be 11AM-7PM, Monday, June 9, 2025 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A private family inurnment will happen at a later date at Agnew Cemetery in Keefton, Oklahoma.
