Margie Kay Hayward

Margie Kay (Todd) Hayward, 67, of Muskogee was born September 28, 1954, in Muskogee to Henry and Voler (Yandell) Todd. Following a lengthy illness peacefully passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Saint Francis in Tulsa with her family by her side. Margie received her formal education and graduated from Fort Gibson Public Schools. On November 8, 1975, Margie married her best friend, Gene Hayward and became Mom to Bill, David, Susie, Donna, Bo, Christy and Gene Jr. and from their marriage came two more children, Katie and Clifford. She worked for several years at David Garrett Law Office and then went to work for Holloway Engineering as a field tech testing concrete for construction sites. She advanced her career with Holloway, Updike & Bellen as an Administrative Assistant. At the time of her passing, she was a homemaker. Margie love to cook for and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Their favorite food was Memaw’s noodles. She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking and garage sales. Her door was always open, and she always took time to sit and listen to everyone’s problems while providing them a hot meal. She had a big heart and would help everyone she could. She will be missed by many. The family would like to give a special thanks to Kristin with DaVita Dialysis in Wagoner, Encompass Home Health in Muskogee and the many Physicians and staff that helped provide with her care. Margie was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Christal Todd, and William and Beckie Yandell; her parents, Henry and Voler (Yandell) Todd; a sister, Susan Todd; husband, Gene Hayward; son, David Hayward; daughter, Donna Carver and grandchildren, Skylar Hayward-Smith and Carly Smith. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Katie Glass and husband Aaron, Clifford Hayward, Bill Hayward, Susie Johnson, Vicki Parks, Bo Clark, Christy Chambers and Gene Hayward, Jr; grandchildren, Nicholas, Melissa, Abagail and Alex Hayward, Tyler and Rachael Glass, Chelsie Crabb, Sara Chambers, Chance Chambers, John-Tyler Hart, David, Joey, and Jason Hayward, Samantha Winkel, Jeremy Winkel, Georganna Phipps, Shane Hayward, Amanda, Trisha and Savannah Barnett, Amy Plunkett, Brian and Joshua Bufore, and Angie Parks; several great-grandchildren; great great-grandchildren; her sisters, Becky Evans, Alta Hayward and husband Russ, Dorothy Brown and husband, Randy, Ruth Phillips and husband Danny; her brothers, Henry Todd and wife Juanita, and Terry Todd; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Viewing for Margie will be noon-7pm Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A graveside service celebrating Margie’s life will be 1PM Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Citizens Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Gibson with Brother Justin Kinman officiating.
