Marla Jeane Tyndall

Marla Jeane (Lackey) Tyndall, 77, of Muskogee was born June 28, 1948, in San Bernadino, CA to Ivan Jay and Billye (Starkey) Lackey and transitioned to her Heavenly Home on March 9, 2026, in Muskogee. Marla was a proud graduate of the Muskogee Class of 1967 and spent her life in Oklahoma and Texas, calling Muskogee home for 47 years, Waco, Texas for 12 years, and Tulsa for 18 years. She dedicated 30 years of service to Toys “R” Us, where she built a steady career in sales before retiring in 2008. Marla was a faithful member of Outdoor Life Community Church, where she valued worship and fellowship with her church family. She also enjoyed bowling and was a regular in the senior morning bowling league. In addition, she was a member of the Alpha Thera chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, where she shared friendship and service with others. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and creative moments. She enjoyed seamstress work, spending time bowling, and relaxing while coloring on her tablet. Traveling brought her happiness, as did her cherished collections of owls, gnomes, and Native American dolls, along with her lifelong love of Elvis. Above all, Marla loved her family dearly. She was an exceptional mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, care, and devotion will be treasured by those who knew and loved her. Marla is now reunited with her parents, Ivan Jay Lackey and Billye Jean (Starkey) Lackey; and her sister, Debbie. She is lovingly survived her daughter, Ellen Sue Chandler and wife Crystal of Muskogee, OK; her sons, Jay Chandler and wife Rhonda of Fort Gibson, OK, David Chandler and wife Missy of Wagoner, OK, John Conn and wife Staci of Muskogee, and Mike Watson of Waco, TX; her brother, Bobby Dean Lackey and wife Sandy of Muskogee, OK; her two nieces, Mellye Lackey of Minnesota, and Barbie Brown of Covington, KY; her grandchildren, Robert Peters, Nicole Ellis, Jeremy Vick, Blake Chandler, Reagan Chandler, Jake Rozell, Angel Chandler, Cody Carlisle, Ali Morgan, Jaelyn Conn, and Breezy Diffee; her great-grandchildren, Madison Vick, Maycie Vick, Adelle Ellis, Cayden Ward, Houston Chandler, Colton Chandler, Evelyn Hill, Everleigh Swimmer, Coleston Swimmer, Lennyx Swimmer, Amyah Carlisle; extended family and many friends. She will be missed. A visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Muskogee with the family receiving friends from 5PM - 7PM. A celebration of Marla’s life will be held 10AM, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Outdoor Life Community Church with Pastor Eric Reeves officiating. Committal prayers and entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with Jay Chandler, David Chandler, Bobby Lackey, John Conn, Daniel Rozell, and Josh Swimmer serving as casket bearers.
