Matthew Thomas Parker

Matthew Thomas Parker, of Muskogee, was born on November 13, 1972, in Muskogee to Tom and Cheryl (Thompson) Parker and entered Heaven’s Gates on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in Tulsa, at the age of 51. He was born and raised in Muskogee, moving to Mannford for a 9-year period, and then moved back home to Muskogee in 2010. Matt furthered his education at Northeastern State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting. With his education, he became an accountant and worked in the family accounting business. He was employed at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at the time of his passing. Matt was an avid OU Sooners football fan and could be found in front of the TV watching them play. He enjoyed cars, new and old and was always ready to go to a local car show. Matt was a music lover and would crank up the volume and listen to his music as loud as possible. He enjoyed keeping his yard tidy, working in his flower bed and being outside. Matt was funny! He had some of the worst dad jokes always ready to make you laugh. Most of all, he cherished his family. Matthew loved his children, and spending time with them was his favorite thing to do. His memory will live on in the bad dad jokes, and the legacy of unconditional love he left behind. He will be missed. Matt is now reunited with his father, Tom Parker; and his brother, Jeff Parker. He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Hope Parker of Muskogee, OK, and Ryleigh Parker of Muskogee, OK; son, Carson Parker of Muskogee, OK; his mother, Cheryl Parker of Muskogee, OK; and the mother of his children, Erin Parker, of Muskogee, OK; extended family and many friends. Viewing will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 12PM-7PM with a visitation with family receiving friends from 5PM-7PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Muskogee. A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at New Community Church with Brother Evan Risinger officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Carson Parker, Jake Richards, Braden Greene, Ronnie Greene, Terry Orman and Joey Elrod serving as casket bearers.
