Paul Randolph Rush

Paul Randolph Rush, 71, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on June 21, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 29, 1953, in Memphis (Millington), Tennessee, to David Marrs Rush and Wilma Juanita Carr Rush. Paul spent most of his childhood traveling with his family as they moved between various Naval bases, places including, Italy, Virginia, California, Tennessee and Rhode Island, eventually settling in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He graduated from Muskogee High School in 1972 and later earned an associate's degree in accounting from Connors State College. Paul worked in several restaurants as a chef and cook before retiring as a salesman in 2013. He enjoyed bowling, camping with his son, spending time with family, reading, watching science fiction, and was a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. Paul is survived by his mother, Wilma Juanita "Sarge" Carr Rush of Owasso, Oklahoma; his son, Jason Rush, and daughter-in-law, Angie Rush, along with their children, Rachael Rush and her son, Copeland of Stigler, Oklahoma, Aubry Rush, of Muskogee, Joshua Cowan and his wife, Ayla, and their children, Jaxon, and Elijah of Muskogee. He is also survived by his brothers: David Stephen Rush and his wife, Robin, of Chesterfield, Missouri; James Michael Rush of Norman, Oklahoma, Jeffrey Brian Rush and his wife, Jane, of Owasso, Oklahoma; and Mark Christopher Rush of Moore, Oklahoma. Additionally, he is survived by his honorary brother and cousin, Samuel Perry Schulze, and his wife, Nan, of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Paul leaves behind aunts Betty Rush Head and Jackie Rush Foutch, uncle Joseph Michael "Mike" Rush, cousins Nancy Dodd Milam and husband, Steve, Sue Warren, as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, David Marrs Rush. A celebration of life will be 11AM Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel, Muskogee, OK with Reverend Mike Hart officiating.
