Rowe Dean 'Dink' Ragsdale

Rowe Dean Ragsdale, commonly known as ‘Dink’, 89, of Fort Gibson, OK, was born September 28, 1934, in Fort Gibson, OK, to Jesse Mack and Martha Ellen (Hall) Ragsdale and passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024, in Muskogee, OK. Dink attended Fort Gibson Public School and enlisted in the United States Army, during his Senior year, in April of 1954. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in February of 1956. In December of 1956, he married Charlene Rolland of Ft. Gibson and spent 44 years by her side. Dink was an auto mechanic by trade his entire life. He worked at Eddie Warrior Correctional Facility, as a Maintenance Instructor, for several years before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, mowing, tinkering with small engines and bingo. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas, Nevada. His number one passion though was his family, especially his grandkids. He was a long-time member of the Fort Gibson First Baptist Church. Dink is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene; his parents, Jesse Mack and Martha Ellen Ragsdale; granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Gauntt; Charlene’s parents, Charlie and Leona Rolland; one brother, Harold Ragsdale; six sisters, Annabelle Williams, Margaret Gragg, Imogene Luellen, Dorsey Herzog, and Kay Harrison; and his companion, Mary Sue McKinney. Those left to cherish Dink’s memory are his daughters, Paula Gauntt and husband Tim, and Marcy Ragsdale all of Fort Gibson, OK; son, Douglas Ragsdale of Fort Gibson, OK; granddaughters, Khadney Payne of Fort Gibson, OK, Callie Johnson and husband Don of Muskogee, OK, Cammie Banks and husband Billy of Fort Gibson, Skye Morris and husband Andy of Fort Gibson, OK; grandsons, Cody Parker and wife Kim of Tahlequah, OK, Adam Parker of Fort Gibson, Brant Parker of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren, Kaebryn Payne, Kreelynn Payne, Presley Parker, Grayson Parker, Bentley Riley, Sawyer Banks, Ashlyn Banks, Annabell Morris, Lucas Morris, and Kaydan Morris; extended family; and numerous friends. A visitation with family receiving friends will be 2PM-4PM, Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A celebration of Rowe’s life will be held 11AM, Monday, August 5, 2024, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Chaplain Chris Jones officiating. Cody Parker, Brant Parker, Kelly Gilliam, Jeff Gilliam, Scott Wafford, and Marty McFarland will be serving as honorary casket bearers. Full military honors will be observed.
