Ruth 'Nanny' Marie Haas, 84, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma was born March 2, 1941 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Wilbert Allen and Hazel Bonnie (McEntire) Weaver and passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Fort Gibson and dedicated herself to her community, family, and faith. For 13 years, she served as a custodian at Fort Gibson Middle School, retiring in 2007. Through her quiet work and humble service, she became a familiar and comforting presence to many students and staff alike. Her simple joys in life painted a picture of a woman who deeply appreciated the beauty in everyday moments. Ruth enjoyed going to garage sales with her dear friend Alma, listening to classic country music, and watching her favorite programs like Crook & Chase and Hallmark movies, especially during the Christmas season. She loved working word searches and reading the newspaper, always keeping her mind sharp and heart content. But above all else, Ruth treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life was deeply rooted in family, and she found her greatest happiness in the laughter, milestones, and closeness of her loved ones. Whether watching them grow or offering her quiet strength and love, Ruth was the heart of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Gene Haas; and her son-in-law, Billy Barnett, Jr. Left to carry on her legacy of love are her children, David Haas, and Carla Flournoy and husband Vernon; her grandchildren, Harley Barnett and wife Desirée Barnett, Billy Barnett III, and wife Rachel, Carl Barnett, Autumn Barnett, and Aaron Barnett; her great-grandchildren, Fischer Barnett, Colton Barnett, Elani Barnett, and Fernando Jr. She is also survived by her brother Don Weaver, and wife Linda, and nephews Barry and Brent Weaver; along with extended family, and dear friends. Ruth’s life was one of gentle kindness, selfless love, and quiet faithfulness. She will be remembered with smiles, laughter, and stories of a woman who lived simply and loved deeply. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be 11AM, Monday, June 9, 2025 at Three Rivers Cemetery in Okay, Oklahoma with Rev. Chris Jones officiating.
