Vickie Lynn Hayward, 67, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on December 23, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Gene and Gloria (Stahl) Hayward. Vickie received her education in Indianapolis before eventually settling in Muskogee, where she made her home and dedicated her life to caring for others. A lifelong caregiver, Vickie touched many lives through her compassion and unwavering support. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—riding motorcycles with stops to admire serene lake views, curling up with a good book, or listening to music that stirred her soul. Above all else, Vickie cherished time spent with her family. Whether gathered around for a family barbecue or sharing quiet moments together, those times were among her most treasured. Her deep faith and love for God were guiding lights throughout her life. Vickie leaves behind a legacy of service and unconditional love that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Vickie is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Donna Carver and Susie Johnson; and brother, David Hayward. Those left to cherish Vickie’s memory are her sisters, Gloria Clark and husband Terry of Texanna, Oklahoma, Christy Chambers of Porter, Oklahoma, and Katie Glass and husband Aaron of Muskogee, Oklahoma; brothers, Bill Hayward of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gene Hayward, Jr. of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Clifford Hayward of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her children, step son, Christopher Parks and wife Angie of Wichita, Kansas, his children Aiyana Johnson and husband Stephen of Wichita, Kansas and Christopher Tyee Parks; grandchildren, Layla, Olivia, and Stephen; great niece, Sarah Winkel of Coweta, Oklahoma and her children, Zayne and Ryder Winkel and Rari Reed; great nephews, Zachary Winkel of Orlanda, Florida, Shane Hayward, Jr. of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Michael Winkel and wife Rachel of Muskogee, Oklahoma and their children, Warren and Wren; great-great niece, Mya Barnett of Muskogee, Oklahoma; extended family; and many friends. Visitation with family receiving friends will be 5PM-7PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A celebration of Vickie’s life will be 1PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Brother Justin Kinman officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Christopher Tyee Parks, Brian Bufore, Garrett Winkel, Jeremy Winkel, Shane Hayward, Jr., Gerimiah Hemphill serving as casket bearers.
