Bill Edward Murphy, 85, of Fort Gibson was born April 1, 1933 to George Washington and Laura Ann (McBee) Murphy in Newport, Arkansas and passed away peacefully Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Fort Gibson. Bill was a self-employed carpet layer for over 30 years. In his pastime, Bill enjoyed fishing and spent many hours out on the water and loved spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; brothers, R.L. Murphy and Delbert Murphy Those left to cherish his memories are his sons; Dean Murphy and wife Julie of Bartlesville, OK and Tim Murphy and wife Kim of Fort Gibson, OK; daughters, Linda Dougan of Van Buren, AR, Debra Uhrich of Dardenelle, AR, Janet Boroujerdi and husband Ted of Starkville, MS, Billie Lanette and Bob Murphy of Arkadelphia, AR and Tammy Robison and husband Tim of Checotah, OK; twenty-five grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 with family receiving friends from 5PM-7PM at the funeral home. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held 10AM Friday, June 29, 2018 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darin Beller officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Gibson with Tim Robison, Curt Chapman, Quade Norman, Joe Nichols, Lynn Ellison, Matthew Uhrich, Luke Murphy, Tim Murphy Jr., Ryan Murphy and Dually Robison serving as casket bearers.
