Duane Aaron Anderson, 60, of Braggs, OK was born April 21, 1960 in Crossett, AR to Duane and Elizabeth (Neas) Anderson and peacefully passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at his home in Braggs, OK with his loving family at his side. Duane received his formal education at Braggs Schools and graduated from Braggs High School. He continued his education at Indian Capital Technology Center, where he received multiple Vo-Tech Certificates. Duane started his 42-year career at Fort Howard/Georgia Pacific and served as a Senior Millwright at the time of his passing. Duane enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, fishing, and attending gun shows. He spent many hours target practicing and reloading his own ammunition. Working with cattle wasn’t work to him. Duane enjoyed the local flea markets, and always had a project he was working on. Spending time with his wife and family was his passion. Duane is lovingly survived by his wife, Paula of the home; sons, Noah Anderson and his fiancé Candace of Braggs, Derek Smith and his wife April of Braggs, Dallas Banks and his partner Braxton of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Dana Caviness and her husband Joe of Tahlequah, OK; Memory McElhaney and her husband Joe of Guthrie, OK; Gabriel Anderson of McAlester, OK; sisters, Monique Pierce and her husband Clark of Knoxville, TN; Marilynn Huddleston and her husband Larry of Waldran, AR; Jenny Ware and her husband James of Folsom, CA; brothers, Maynard Anderson and his wife Amy of Farmington, AR; Edward Montgomery and his wife Becka of Rison, AR; Mike Anderson and his wife Linda of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Honesty (Hammer), Danika (Louie), Maden (Mad Man), Gus, Lori, Tye, Baylee, Audrey, Addie, Oliver, Eli, Judah, Asher, Gracie, Ruger, Gunner, Reagan, Kyle, Anthony, Chaz, and Lizzy; father and mother in law, Jess and Patricia Crum of Braggs; brother in law; Jason Crum and wife Carla of Terlton, OK; numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Anderson; mother and step-father, John and Elizabeth Montgomery. A visitation will be held Monday, April 12, 2021 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson, with the family receiving friends 5PM-7PM. A celebration of Duane’s life will be 12:30PM, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at New Hope Assembly in Muskogee, with Pastor Anthony Roe and Pastor Jason Crum officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK with Noah Anderson, Derek Smith, Dallas Banks, Joe Caviness, Joe McElhaney, Maden Smith and Braxton Banks serving as casket bearers. Johnny Capps, NDN White Eagle, Edward Montgomery, Maynard Anderson, Larry Huddleston, and Gabriel Anderson will serve as honorary casket bearers.
