Ethel Lee (Cormier) Johnson, 85, of Fort Gibson was born September 29, 1931 in Louisiana to Farrier and Marie (La Fluer) Cormier and entered Heaven’s gates on Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Tulsa, OK. Lee’s first love was the time she spent studying the Bible and praying for others. She enjoyed playing the piano and guitar with her husband, Bob, their two sons and occasionally with friends. Lee was a faithful member of Valley View Church in Fort Gibson and was often referred to as the “Prayer Warrior.” She was a homemaker and was an outstanding cook with her specialty being Cajun gumbo. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Bobby Joe Johnson; granddaughters, Jessica Leigh Johnson and Katina Smith; brother, Junior Cormier and sister, Rita Harrington. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Frances Smith; sons, David Johnson and wife Linda and Douglas Johnson and wife Janette; two grandsons, Jay Johnson and wife Melissa and Joseph Smith and wife Tori; two sisters, Jan Reaux and Leanna Moon; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A graveside service celebrating Lee’s life will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Citizens Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Gibson with Reverend Don Rhyne officiating. David Johnson, Doug Johnson, Jay Johnson, Joey Smith, Joe Smith and Jason Hall will serve as casket bearers.
