Gary V. Sundquist Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gary Victor Sundquist, 80, of Muskogee, OK was born May 27, 1940 in Wadena, Minnesota to Victor E. and Eleanor (Pearson) Sundquist and peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Tulsa, OK. Gary received his formal education at Muskogee Central High School, graduating with the class of 1958. He enlisted with the United States Army on June 19, 1967 and was honorably discharged February 9, 1972. Gary met and married the love of his life, Mary Fryer on April 27, 1968. Together they spent 52 years, 7 months, and 11 days making memories. To this marriage two sons were born, Vic and Aaron. He worked for Corning Glass Co. as a machine maintenance technician in Muskogee. Gary transferred to Corning Glass Co. in Pennsylvania after the Muskogee company closed. He began his retirement in 1995, after 31 years of service. Gary enjoyed owning sports cars. He owned many Corvettes through the years. Gary is lovingly survived by his wife, Mary of the home; sons, Vic Sundquist and wife Sandy of Fort Gibson, OK; Aaron Sundquist and wife Dana of Muskogee, OK; grandsons, Zacary Sundquist of Fort Gibson, OK; Dakota Stephens of Little Rock, AR; and Kenny Jones II of Scobey, MS; granddaughter, Jaclyn Jones of Fort Gibson, OK; great grandchildren, Keagen, Liam, and Aurora of Fort Gibson, OK; sister, Judy Young and husband Lavoy of Okay, OK; extended family and many friends. Viewing will be from 1PM-5PM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson, OK. A visitation with family receiving friends will be from 5PM-7PM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the funeral home. A graveside service celebrating Gary’s life will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 1PM with Pastor Glen Little officiating at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, OK. Committal prayers and interment will follow. Jim Haws, Virgil Medley, Wes Young, Jeff Walker, and Jerry Humphrey will serve as casket bearers. Vic Sundquist, Aaron Sundquist, and Zacary Sundquist will serve as honorary casket bearers.
