Gene A. Erickson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gene Allen Erickson, 90, of Oktaha, was born March 21, 1932, in Duluth, Minnesota to Edwin and Violet (Nelson) Erickson and peacefully passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at his home with his loving family by his side. He grew up in Duluth where he graduated high school. Gene lived in Duluth for 18 years, California for 32 years and resided in Oktaha until his passing. After high school, Gene served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict earning a Korean Service Medal and the UN Ribbon. He received an Honorable Discharge on April 13, 1952, as a Sergeant. After Gene’s military service, he married and had two daughters; Randa and Traci he became self employed as a painting contractor. He met and married the love of his life, Colleen O’Meara on May 21, 1966, in Carson City, Nevada. Gene retired from the painting industry in 1994 after 25 years of service. He was a life-long member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Gene will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marilyn Miles and Kay Schmitz; and son, Kevin Erickson. Those left to cherish Gene’s memory are his wife, Colleen of the home; son, Ryan Erickson of Tulsa; daughters, Randa Erickson of Rhode Island and Traci Green of Billerica, Massachusetts; grandsons, Devin Erickson of Oktaha and Spencer Erickson of Lexington, Kentucky; granddaughters, Haley Erickson of Portland, Oregon, Jordan Erickson of Tulsa, Shauna Conran of Billerica, Massachusetts, Courtney Diaz of Billerica, Massachusetts, Nicole Black of Missouri and Jamie Erickson of Missouri; eight great-grandchildren; extended family and many friends. Gene’s Celebration of Life will be held 11:30AM Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson. Committal prayers and interment will follow at 12:30PM in Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Maury Morris, Paul Groves, Larry Bailey, Ron Watson, Devin Erickson and Spencer Erickson serving as casket bearers.
