Karen Kay Pate Felts never met a stranger. She had a heart for children, animals, her church, and especially for her family. Karen passed away on Thursday, Sept.16, 2021. She was 54 years old. Karen and her husband of 27 years, Jack Vincent Felts Jr., along with their two children, Tanner and Brittany, loved spending Saturdays in Stillwater and summers in Florida. Karen was a die-hard Oklahoma State University fan, always wearing orange. She was born in Muskogee on May 29, 1967, to Jimmy and Phyllis Pate. She was born with a smile and that smile rarely ever left her face. She will be truly missed by so, so many. Karen graduated from Muskogee High School in 1985 and OSU in 1989. At OSU she was a member of Alpha Delta Phi sorority. She worked for Muskogee Public Schools for 14 years in a variety of capacities. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Muskogee. Karen is survived by her husband, Jack “Vinny” Felts, of the home; son, Tanner, and his wife, Ragen Felts, of Tulsa; daughter, Brittany Felts, and her fiancé, Michael Orellana, of Dallas; and mother, Phyllis Pate, of Muskogee; her mother-in-law, Barbara W. Felts of Tulsa; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Hetherington of Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Pate Sr., brother, Craig Pate; sister-in-law, Caroline Hendricks and father-in-law, Jack V. Felts Sr. A memorial service celebrating Karen’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Muskogee with Reverend Patrick McPherson and Reverend Jordan Howard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to First United Methodist Church Muskogee, 600 E. Okmulgee Ave., Muskogee 74403. Attention: Food for Kids.
