Melinda Sue Smith, 64, of Fort Gibson was born June 3, 1956 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Allen and Maxine (Kupec) Meckle. Her hobbies included reading novels, painting beautiful pictures, spending time in her boat on the lake and was an avid NASCAR fan. She was also the best dog-Nana ever. Melinda managed Sally’s Beauty Supply over 15 years and retired in 2018. Her love and devotion for her family was evident in the way she lived her life. Melinda was preceded in death by her dad and her husband, Randy Smith and baby sister Joy Lynn. Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Maxine Meckle of Warner, OK; daughters, Christina Waltman (Jimmy) of Fort Gibson, OK and Tammy Hargrave (Brian) of Dickinson, TX; granddaughters, Raelee Waltman of Fort Gibson, OK and Brilee Hargrave of Dickinson, TX; grandsons, Ryan Waltman of Fort Gibson, OK and Braven Hargrave of Dickinson, TX; brothers, Allen Meckle (Billie) of Muskogee, OK and Rex Meckle (Sheryl) of Fort Worth, TX; niece, Cheyenne Meckle of Tulsa, OK; extended family and many friends. Melinda’s wishes were to be cremated and her family to celebrate her life at a later date.
