Ronald L. Maurer

November 25, 1933 - January 7, 2021

Ronald Leroy Maurer, 87, of Sand Springs, OK was born November 25, 1933 in Woodford, Wisconsin to Floyd Maurer and Freida Steiner and peacefully passed away January 7, 2021 in Tulsa, OK. Ron spent his early years in Wisconsin. The family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he graduated from high school. He enlisted in the United States Army on June 22, 1953 in California. He was transferred to Hawaii for basic training before serving as a weapons infantryman in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on May 17, 1955 then served in the reserves through 1962. He began a career with the California Highway Department in 1956 working in maintenance as a Tree Supervisor through 1998. He loved his family and will be missed by all that knew him. Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Maurer and a grandson, Robert Perritt. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Glenda Perritt and husband Gary of Adair, OK; granddaughters, Rhonda Tilson and husband Patrick of Sand Springs, OK; Linda Deselle and husband Matt of Locust Grove, OK; and Jeanette Fine and husband Chad of Locust Grove, OK; great grandchildren, Alicia Tilson of Sand Springs, OK, Joey Tilson of Towson, MD, Benjamin Tilson of Sand Springs, OK, Meagan Perritt of Locust Grove, OK, Natalie Perritt of Locust Grove, OK, Jessika Deselle of Locust Grove, OK, and Zac Perritt of Corsicana, TX; his sisters, Rose Blomquist of Summerfield, FL; and Elaine Miller of Minneapolis, MN; extended family and many friends. Services for Ronald are scheduled for 10AM Monday, January 18, 2021 in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK with Military Honors.
