Vivienne "Jeanie" Jean Dodd

May 2, 1941 - December 8, 2021

Jeanie was born and raised in Tulsa. While in high school she competed in synchronized swimming (water ballet) taking second place with her swimming partner in National Competition. She attended OSU in Stillwater for a short time, then in 1959 married Ray Plack and entered into the workforce doing Secretarial jobs. All three of Ray and Jeanie’s Children were born in Stillwater. She later lived in Nebraska and Colorado, then returned to Oklahoma where she worked as a bank teller and loan officer for several years and made many dear friends in those careers. In 1976 she married J.C. ‘Doc’ Johnson. Doc and Jeanie were married for almost 30 years and together grew a very successful Chiropractic Practice in Muskogee. Jeanie taught Chiropractic Assistants at Johnson Chiropractic Clinic and at seminars across the country for many years. She loved sharing her knowledge and helping others succeed in their businesses and their careers. In her spare time, she enjoyed swimming, fishing, traveling and crafts of many kinds. After retirement, she had more time to swim with her grandchildren and teach them her skills, and she began quilting – making quilts for many family members and friends and continued to do so until she could no longer work at her sewing and quilting machines. In 2005 she married Tom Dodd. Tom and Jeanie together babysat her great-grandchildren, volunteered for the Prison Ministry of the Fort Gibson Church of Christ, and loved going on cruises as long as they were physically able. After becoming homebound, Jeanie continued to worship virtually with her Church family and often gave input on how the videos could be improved for the viewers. She loved the visits, calls, cards and texts from her family and friends. Her best days were the ones when she knew someone was coming to visit. She truly was a “people person,” thought all people were interesting and wanted to hear their stories and tell them hers. Even in death Jeanie wanted to teach and help others and was a body donor at OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert G Hamilton and Marieta Hamilton (Heisser); spouse, J.C. ‘Doc’ Johnson; and spouse, Tom Dodd. Jeanie is survived by her daughter, Vicky Young and husband Bruce of Fort Gibson, OK; sons, Ricky Plack and wife B.J. of Rogers, AR and Rodney Plack and wife Connie of Rogers, AR; grandchildren, Lindsay Keeling and husband Jacob of Fort Gibson, OK, Bryan Young and wife Erin of Fort Gibson, OK, Daniel Plack of Fayetteville, AR, Kristy Plack of Fayetteville, AR, Brooke Bates and husband Justin of Benton, AR; great-grandchildren, Kade and Kolt Keeling of Fort Gibson, OK, Buck Young of Fort Gibson, OK, Trenton Plack of Farmington, AR, Braxton and Gracian Plack of Fayetteville, AR, Tommy Whittington, Samara Whittington and Tollie Smith of Fayetteville, AR, and Crew Bates of Benton, AR; brother, Bob Hamilton and wife Ellie of Sebastopol, CA; sisters, Vicki Elliot of Tomball, TX, and Lana Craig of Bastrop, TX, many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation in Jeanie’s name to Burnt Cabin Christian Camp, C/O Fort Gibson Church of Christ, PO Box 787, Fort Gibson, OK, 74434. A Celebration of Jeanie’s life will be held 10AM, Friday, January 14, 2022, at The Fort Gibson Church of Christ with Minister Dan Rouse and Budo Perry officiating. The family of Jeanie Dodd has entrusted her service to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson, OK. 918.478.2555.
