Alma Louise Cook

Alma Louise Cook, 93, of Fort Gibson, OK was born January 25, 1931 to Eddie and Ethel (Hall) Gragg and peacefully passed away January 29, 2024 in Muskogee, OK. Louise grew up and graduated High School in Fort Gibson in 1949. She met and later married the love of her life Billy W. Cook on February 5, 1949 in Van Buren, AR and together they had two children. Louise’s most treasured job was being a stay-at-home Mom to her children. Louise spent several years volunteering at the Muskogee Hospital in the surgery waiting area. She loved to camp and fish. One of her favorite things was to travel, having visited many amazing places. Every night you could find her working one of her cross-word puzzles. She also enjoyed crocheting and eating out. In Louise’s later years, her greatest pleasure was spending time with family who came to visit her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Louise is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy W. Cook; sister, Geneva Polly; and brother, Jimmy Gragg. Louise is lovingly survived by her daughter, Regina Lynn Donahue and husband Mike of Wagoner, OK; son, William Kendall Cook and wife Paula of Muskogee, OK; grandsons, Damon Michael Donahue of Fort Gibson, OK, Grant William Cook and wife Jen of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughters, Sarah Donahue Doak and husband Gary of Wagoner, OK, and Katherine Elizabeth Cook Grace and husband Michael of Oktaha, OK; several great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends. A visitation for Louise will be 5PM-7PM, Thursday, February 1, 2024 with family receiving friends at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A celebration of Alma Louise Cook’s life will be held 10AM, Friday, February 2, 2024 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Pastor James Lambert officiating. Mike Donahue, Gary Doak, Creed Doak, Dylan Donahue-Herriman, Landon Donahue, and Tony Cook will serve as casket bearers. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson.
