Bobbie Gene Chandler

Bobbie Gene Chandler, 78, of Oktaha, OK was born May 2, 1945, in Enid, OK to Charles Clarence and Noundous Blake Chandler and departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. Bob received his high school education, then enlisted in the United States Navy on November 26, 1963, serving during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge as a FA-E2 and BT-4500 Boilerman on December 5, 1966, in Okay, OK. On December 24, 1973, Bob married Debra Ross in Okmulgee, OK and together celebrated over 50 years of marriage. He became a Truck Driver, a career he loved for over 40 years, and retired in 2005 after traveling the United States. Bob enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, or shooting his guns. He could also be found inside reading or watching his beloved Westerns on TV. Bob touched many lives through his 78 years and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; and May Holabee, Clarence Chandler, Helen Chandler, and Barbara Vinson. Those left to keep his legacy are his wife, Debra of the home; daughters, Ellen and Crystal Chandler, both of Muskogee and Teina McCormick of Oktaha; sons, Jay (Rhonda) Chandler of Fort Gibson and David (Missy) Chandler of Muskogee; John and Staci Conn of Muskogee; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends. A visitation with the family receiving friends will be held 5PM to 7PM Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Muskogee. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held 11AM Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Pastor Steve Hughes officiating. His committal service will be held 11AM Monday, April 15, 2024, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Full military honors will be observed. Jay Chandler, David Chandler, Mike Holabee, Blake Chandler, Raymond Chandler, and Charlie Chandler will serve as honorary urn bearers.
