Deloris Kathryn Tickel

Deloris Kathryn Tickel, 95, was born September 29, 1930, to Clarence and Esther Keisling in Norman, OK, and peacefully passed away February 24, 2026, in Muskogee, OK. Deloris married Homer Eugene Tickel on May 5, 1950, in Norman, OK and together they shared many years of life and memories. She was a woman that valued simple things, like camping with her children in tents in Colorado, and cooking on the open campfire. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the love of her life. Deloris had a heart for serving others. She was involved in volunteering at her church’s food pantry, at First United Methodist Church, where she gave her time and energy in faithful service. She also volunteered at the hospital, where her kindness and gentle spirit brought comfort to many. Whether through her church or her community, Deloris lived out her faith by caring for those around her. She was employed and retired from Sears Mail Order Catalog. She leaves behind a family, who will continue to honor her memory and carry forward the values she lived by. She is remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Deloris is survived by her son, Mike Tickel and wife Pam of Muskogee; daughters, Gail Thompson of Muskogee, Susan Amerson of Muskogee; grandchildren, Melonie Matthews and husband Mark of Coweta, Karrie Couch and husband Robert of Owasso, Angela Lane and husband Joseph of Muskogee, Amber Madewell and husband Nick of Muskogee, Ashley Province and husband Steven of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Hayden Russell, Mason McCoy and wife Abby, Emily Underwood, Reagen McCoy, Talen McCoy, Hudson Madewell; sister-in-law, Jan Schronk; extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; brother, Stacy Schronk; sons-in-law, Connie Amerson and Dean Thompson; and granddaughter, Callie Slader. A celebration of Deloris’ life is scheduled for 1PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee with Brother Justin Kinman officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee with Hayden Russell, Mason McCoy, Reagen McCoy, Talen McCoy, Emily Underwood, and Hudson Madewell serving as Casket Bearers.
