Dixie Lee Short, 80, of Park Hill, Oklahoma was born July 19, 1945, in Millerton, OK to William Barden and Tommie Jewel (Kellum) Taylor and peacefully passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, love, and cherished memories. Dixie, a beloved wife, mother, and Memaw, was happiest surrounded by her family. Her son, Mark and her grandchildren were the light of her life. When her mother, Jewel was still here, they went everywhere together. Dixie always said her mom was her best friend. She was an intelligent businesswoman who proudly owned and operated Suburban MHP since 1971. Her entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering dedication not only transformed the park into a welcoming community but also showcased her remarkable leadership skills. She radiated joy and charm, always surrounded by her close-knit friends and beloved Ron as they ventured out on memorable boating and fishing escapades. With an undeniable passion for fashion, she dazzled those around her, often outshined only by her love of all sparkly things, which even extended to her glittering nails. Cherishing quality time with her friends and family, these moments became her most treasured memories. Dixie’s quick wit and delightful humor consistently illuminated every conversation, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her adventurous soul, and the way she made every moment brighter for those lucky enough to know her. She will be missed by many. Dixie is now reunited with her father, William Barden Taylor; her mother, Tommie Jewel (Kellum) Taylor; and her husband, Ronnie Lovely. She is lovingly survived by her son, Mark Collins and his wife Tammy of Park Hill, OK; grandchildren Lisa Waller and her husband Greg of Crandall, TX; Kevin Collins and his wife Cortney of Fort Worth, TX; Brad Collins of Oklahoma City, OK; Tyler Courtwright and his wife Jamie of Cookson, OK; and Chancy Page and her husband Kelly of Rockwall, TX; Carrie Gray and her husband Cody of Moore, OK; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends. A celebration of Dixie’s life will be 11:00AM, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Brother Justin Kinman officiating.
