Eldon Clay Boswell, 66, of Muskogee, OK was born to Cyrus Mitchell Boswell and Hazel Isabel (Jones) Boswell, and entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Muskogee. Eldon was affectionately known as Clay his entire life. Clay, a dedicated and hardworking lifelong resident of Muskogee, was known for his quiet strength and steady presence. A proud graduate of Muskogee High School, he went on to earn both his welding certificate and electrician certification, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to skilled trades. Self-employed as a talented carpenter and construction worker, Clay built a respected reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliability. His humble nature, dependable character, and hands-on abilities made a lasting impact on those who knew him and the community he served throughout his life. He was a devoted educator of his faith, passionately sharing the teachings of Christianity with others. His favorite verses were John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid” and Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burdens upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken”. He found joy in reading his Bible and exploring various Christian books, constantly seeking knowledge to deepen his understanding. A familiar presence in his home, Clay could often be found listening to his favorite gospel stations on the radio, letting the uplifting melodies fill the air. He dedicated his time to helping others, always willing to lend a hand or offer support. Above all, Clay cherished the moments spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, whose laughter and joy illuminated his life. His legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. “To live in the hearts, we leave behind is to never die”. Clay is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Boswell of Muskogee, OK; granddaughters, Kallie Miller of Muskogee, OK, and Cheyanne Miller of Muskogee, OK; grandsons, Christopher Miller of Muskogee, OK, and Noah Miller of Muskogee, OK; nephews, Thomas Wesley of Muskogee, OK, and Seth Boswell of Muskogee, OK; brothers, Gerald Boswell and wife Christean of Muskogee, OK, Allen Boswell of Muskogee, OK, and Mike Boswell of Muskogee, OK, numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. He is now reunited with his granddaughter, Ana Miller; his parents, Cyrus Mitchell and Hazel Isabel (Jones) Boswell; his sister, Connie Boswell; and his brothers, Chuck Boswell, Marvin Boswell, and Keith Boswell. A viewing will be held from 1:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Muskogee. Clay’s life will be celebrated at 10:00AM, Monday, August 4, 2025, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Muskogee with Pastor Don Nichols officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Ross Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK with Alex Taylor, Chris Miller, Coby Stevens, Noah Miller, Seth Boswell, and Thomas Wesley serving as casket bearers.
