John Nolan Stevenson

John Nolan Stevenson of Okay, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his Texas home on July 5, 2026, at the age of 73. John was born on July 29, 1952, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to James G. and Christine L. Stevenson. After graduating from Muskogee High School, he dedicated his career to Oklahoma Natural Gas, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. John had a passion for sports, traveling, riding his Harley, spending time at the lake, and, above all, making memories with his grandchildren. His greatest joy was his family, and he treasured every moment he shared with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Christine L. Stevenson; and his brothers, Robert Stevenson and James Stevenson. John leaves behind his wife, Sheryl Stevenson; his daughter, Jill Meek, and her husband, Scott, of Weatherford, TX; his cherished grandchildren, Avery and Hudson; and his son, Eric Stevenson of Okay. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia A. Chapin, and her husband, Keith D. Chapin, of Broken Arrow; his brothers, David G. Stevenson and wife, Beverly, of Muskogee, and Gary L. Stevenson and wife, Mary, of Fort Gibson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly. A private family service will be held to celebrate John's life. John leaves behind far more than memories—he leaves a legacy. He showed his family and friends what it means to live with unwavering loyalty, unquestionable integrity, a relentless work ethic, and a love that never wavered. He believed in showing up, working hard, keeping his word, and putting family first. Those who knew him were better because of his example, and his influence will continue to live on in the lives of those he loved. The family sincerely thanks everyone who has surrounded them with prayers, love, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
