Nancy Ann Whitt, 70, of Checotah, OK was born April 14, 1955 in Placerville, CA to Tom and Beatrice (Gary) Ham and peacefully passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 in Tulsa, OK. Nancy was a creative and passionate individual who found joy in a variety of hobbies. She had a deep love for crocheting, which allowed her to craft beautiful handmade items that warmed the hearts of her family. Her vibrant garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, blooming with an array of colorful roses that reflected her joyful personality. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing on her computer, delighting in activities that kept her mind sharp and engaged. Above all, Nancy cherished her family, always prioritizing their happiness and creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. She was a devoted and extraordinary homemaker who transformed every house she lived in into a warm and inviting home filled with love and laughter. For 14 wonderful years, she created cherished memories in Muskogee, OK, followed by 21 joyful years in Albuquerque, NM, and another 14 fulfilling years in Checotah, OK. She met and married the love of her life, James L. Whitt, on January 30, 1973, and their marriage stood the test of time for 51 years and 11 months until her passing, a testament to their unwavering commitment and deep affection for one another. Nancy’s legacy of love, kindness, and hospitality will forever be remembered by all who knew her. Nancy is lovingly survived by her husband, James L Whitt of the home; her son, James L Whitt, Jr. of Marietta, OK; her granddaughter, Kayla Whitt of Marietta, OK; her brothers, Tom Ham of Cordova, AL, and Virgel Keen of Whiteboro, TX; and her sisters, Jean Ford of Springtown, TX, and Tina Moore of Eufaula, OK; extended family, and many friends. She is now reunited with her parents, Thomas and Beatrice (Gary) Ham; her brother, Paul Ham; and her sisters, Mary Estep, Frances Whitt, Joyce Barrington, and Lynette Brassfield. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held 2:30PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Brother Justin Kinman officiating.
