Terry Lee Everett

Terry Lee Everett, 49, of Muskogee, OK was born on December 5, 1973, in Jay, OK to Earl Everett and Dora (Johnson) Menees and peacefully passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, in Muskogee, OK. Terry grew up in Fort Gibson where he attended school. He joined the United States Army in Oklahoma City on July 2, 1993, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Rifle. Terry worked as a Light Weight Vehicle Mechanic while serving and received an honorable discharge on August 23, 1995, from Fort Hood, TX. Terry continued his career as a mechanic in the Fort Gibson and Muskogee areas. He and his twin brother, Jerry, were inseparable most of their lives. Terry was a kind soul who kept to himself, but if ever asked, he would do anything for you. He enjoyed family events and playing games. Terry is loved and will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl E. Everett; paternal grandparents, Sewell and Helen Everett; and maternal grandparents, Oscar and Violet Johnson. Terry is survived by his son, Bryan Everett of Myrtle Creek, OR; mom, Dora M. Menees of Fort Gibson, OK; twin brother, Jerry W. Everett of Fort Gibson, OK; sister, Sherry Shropshire-Jennings and brother-in-law, Steven, both of Fort Gibson, OK; another brother, David Everett of Hobart, OK; nieces, Elizabeth Shropshire-Jennings of Fort Gibson, OK; and Emalee Wooten of Galena, KS; step-daughters, Kristi Wilson McClure and Samantha Truitt, both of Myrtle Creek, OR; nephews, Levi and Parker Jennings, both of Fort Gibson, OK; girlfriend, Becky Averett; several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, and many friends. A viewing/visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 12PM-7PM, with Terry’s family greeting friends 5PM-7PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. A service celebrating Terry’s life will be held 1PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Chapel in Fort Gibson with Brother Justin Kinman officiating. John Everett, Marc Scroggins, Bob Patterson, Shane Bell, Jimmy Daugherty, and Remi Garza will serve as casket bearers. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Fort Gibson National Cemetery at 2:30PM with Military Honors being observed.
