Tyler Wade Howard

Tyler Wade Howard was born October 2, 1985, in Muskogee, OK to Anthony (Tony) Howard and Marie (Ercanbrack) Maxey. Tyler unexpectedly passed from this earth on July 15, 2023, on his precious mother’s birthday. Although our hearts are hurting here on Earth, we know there was no better birthday present than for Marie to wrap her arms around her baby boy as he entered the gates of Heaven. Tyler was a resident of Muskogee, OK and attended Muskogee and Warner Public Schools. He was employed at Red River Brick. As a child, Tyler loved to ride bikes, play baseball, and go bowling. He also loved to roam the neighborhood with his big brother. It’s a true miracle he survived his childhood as Cody’s little brother. Tyler was a kind and gentle soul. A genuinely nice person. If he had a few dollars left to his name, he would use what he had to help someone who found themselves in a worse situation than he was in. He cared deeply for his friends. He would sometimes spend hours on the phone talking to friends about their problems. Tyler was a true and loyal friend, almost to a fault. In his adult years, life did not come easy for Tyler. His mother’s death was more than he could bare. The last 18 months of his life, he was determined to turn his circumstances around. And that he did. He recently said, “I got myself into this and I’ll be the one to get myself out of it.” He had a job and coworkers that he loved and respected. He was a hardworking employee, always going above and beyond. He saved and was able to buy a car. He was able to get an apartment all on his own. He was so proud the day he signed his lease, he couldn’t wait to have people over and show them. These might seem small to some, but these were huge accomplishments for Tyler. The last person to see Tyler before he passed, said he was so happy. As a family, there is nothing you could want more than knowing your loved one lived their final moments happy and proud. Tyler was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Maxey and his grandfather, Cecil Ercanbrack. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Anthony (Tony) Howard and Lisa Howard of Muskogee, OK; his brother, Cody Howard and wife Lindsey Howard of Muskogee, OK. Grandparents, Ted and Cathy Howard of Shalimar, FL and Pauline Standley of Collinsville, OK. Stepbrothers, Coulter Manard and wife Megan of Muskogee, OK and Cody Royse and wife Jamey of Muskogee, OK. Stepsister, Heather (Maxey) Muth and husband Jesse of Claremore, OK. Nephews, Ryker and Radley Howard of Muskogee, OK. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, but Tyler had a very special relationship with his Uncle Marcel Ercanbrack, whom he loved very much. Tyler’s final act was the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. Because of this selfless wish, he was able to bless the lives of many others in his death. Tyler's service is scheduled for 2PM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Muskogee, OK with Pastor Frank Miller officiating.
