William F. 'Bill' Mosteller, Jr.

William F. 'Bill' Mosteller, Jr., 73, was born on September 13, 1949, to William Floyd and Lucille (Brown) Mosteller and peacefully passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, in Muskogee. Bill received his education and high school diploma attending and graduating from Fort Gibson High School in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Bill met and later married the love of his life, Carol Hardin, on January 29, 1968. They started a family and together made memory after memory for 55 years. Bill was a lifelong resident of Fort Gibson. He was a very skilled mechanic; and his mechanical work and heavy machine operating kept him self employed until retiring in 2000. Bill loved the Lord and is a member at New Hope Church. Giving back to the community, Bill was a Scoutmaster of Troop 638, teaching young boys to become responsible young men. Bill loved fishing, woodworking, the outdoors, and just piddling around. He was never shy to shake your hand because Bill enjoyed spending time with and socializing with people. Bill will be missed by many. Bill is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; sons, Bill Mosteller and wife, Amanda, of Fort Gibson, and Michael Mosteller; daughter, Netta Allen and husband, Les, of Fort Gibson; grandsons, Grady Mosteller of Broken Arrow, Jacob Allen of Fort Gibson, Gavin Mosteller of Tahlequah, Connor Mosteller, Cullen Mosteller, and Quill Mosteller all of Fort Gibson; granddaughters, Cara Allen, and Quinn Mosteller of Fort Gibson, brother, Louie Mosteller, of Fort Gibson, James Mosteller of Fort Gibson; sister, Andrea Mosteller of Fort Gibson; special family, Art Crittenden, Doug Hardin, many nieces, nephews and many friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Benge. Bill’s family would like to offer a very warm, sincere and special thank you to Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center and Compassus Hospice for their loving and unwavering care. Memorial services for Bill will be held 2PM Wednesday May 3, 2023 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson with Pastor John Overton officiating.
